2. Use of This Website

You may use this website for lawful personal and commercial browsing purposes.

You must not use this website:

  • in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
  • to transmit malicious software, viruses or harmful code;
  • to attempt unauthorised access to the website, server or associated systems;
  • to interfere with the proper operation or security of the website;
  • to copy, reproduce or commercially exploit website content except where permitted by law or with our written consent.

We may suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or protection of the website and its users.

3. Website Information

We take reasonable care to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date.

Product descriptions, colours, measurements and images are provided as accurately as reasonably possible. However, colours may appear differently depending on the device or screen used, and knitted garments may show minor natural variations in texture, colour or dimensions.

Information on this website is provided for general guidance and does not replace specific product information shown on an individual product page.

We may update, correct or change website content where necessary.

4. Product Availability

All products are subject to availability.

Adding a product to your basket does not reserve it.

If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and will refund any payment received for the unavailable item.

5. Prices

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless otherwise stated.

Prices shown on the website include applicable UK taxes where required.

Delivery charges are shown separately before you complete your order.

We may change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect orders that we have already accepted.

If an obvious pricing error occurs, we are not obliged to supply an item at an incorrect price where the error should reasonably have been apparent. If this happens after an order has been placed, we will contact you and give you the option of proceeding at the correct price or cancelling the order for a full refund.

6. Placing an Order

When you place an order through the website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your basket.

You will have an opportunity to review and correct your order before submitting it.

After your order is submitted, you will receive an electronic acknowledgement. This acknowledgement confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

A contract between you and Celtic Knitwear Company is formed when we accept your order and dispatch the goods, unless we tell you otherwise.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including suspected fraud, payment failure, pricing errors or lack of stock.

7. Payment

Payment must be made using one of the payment methods offered during checkout.

You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method provided.

Payment may be taken at the time your order is placed or processed, depending on the payment provider used.

We do not store full payment-card details ourselves where payment is processed by an independent payment provider.

8. Delivery

We will deliver goods to the delivery address supplied when the order is placed.

Available delivery methods, charges and estimated delivery times will be shown during checkout or elsewhere on the website.

We aim to dispatch orders within the times stated on the website, but delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Unless a different period has been agreed with you, goods purchased online must generally be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days.

We are not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, but we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of any delay.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

9. Risk and Ownership

Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or to a person identified by you to receive them.

Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received full payment.

10. Your Right to Cancel

If you are a consumer purchasing online, you normally have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.

For most goods, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, receives the goods.

If an order contains several items delivered separately, the cancellation period normally runs from receipt of the final item.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must clearly inform us of your decision before the cancellation period expires.

You may contact us by email or another method made available on the website.

You are not required to use a particular form of words, provided your intention to cancel is clear.

11. Exceptions to the Right to Cancel

The statutory right to cancel may not apply to certain goods, including goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.

Where an exception applies, this will be made clear where appropriate before purchase.

This does not affect your rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet your statutory rights.

12. Returning Cancelled Orders

If you cancel an order after receiving the goods, you must return them without undue delay and normally no later than 14 days after telling us that you wish to cancel.

Unless we have agreed otherwise or the goods are faulty, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods.

You should take reasonable care of goods while they are in your possession.

You may inspect goods as you would reasonably be able to do in a shop. We may reduce a refund where the value of returned goods has been diminished because they have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

13. Refunds Following Cancellation

Where you validly cancel an order, we will refund the payments due to you in accordance with applicable consumer law.

For returned goods, refunds are normally made within 14 days of the date we receive the goods back or receive satisfactory evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier.

Where required by law, the refund will include the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.

Additional costs resulting from your choice of a more expensive delivery method may not be refundable.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

14. Faulty or Incorrect Goods

Your statutory rights are not affected by these Terms & Conditions.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods supplied to consumers must be:

  • of satisfactory quality;
  • fit for their usual purpose and any particular purpose made known to us where applicable; and
  • as described.

If goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible.

Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.

15. Knitwear, Natural Fibres and Product Variation

Wool and other natural fibres can show small variations in colour, texture, stitch appearance and dimensions.

These natural characteristics are not necessarily defects.

Knitted garments may also have a degree of natural flexibility. Customers should refer to the product information and Size Guide before ordering.

Care instructions supplied with or displayed for a garment should always be followed.

16. Gift Cards

Where digital or physical gift cards are offered, they may be subject to additional conditions displayed on the relevant product page.

Gift cards cannot normally be exchanged for cash except where required by law.

Any expiry period or restrictions will be made clear before purchase.

17. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, layout and design, is owned by or licensed to Celtic Knitwear Company.

You may view and print website content for your personal, non-commercial use.

You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify or commercially exploit website content without permission unless permitted by law.

Third-party trademarks and product names remain the property of their respective owners.

18. Links to Other Websites

This website may contain links to third-party websites.

These links are provided for convenience and information. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices.

Following a third-party link is at your own discretion.

19. Website Availability

We aim to keep the website available and functioning properly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may temporarily suspend or restrict the website for maintenance, updates, security or technical reasons.

We are not responsible for losses caused solely by temporary website unavailability where we have exercised reasonable care.

20. Liability

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability that cannot legally be excluded under consumer law.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was formed.

We do not exclude or restrict any statutory rights available to consumers.

21. Personal Information

We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is collected, used, stored and protected and also contains information relating to cookies and similar technologies used on the website.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the website, our business practices or applicable law.

The Terms & Conditions that apply to an order will normally be those in force when the order is placed.

The date at the top of this page shows when these Terms & Conditions were last updated.

23. If Part of These Terms Is Invalid

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

24. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and Celtic Knitwear Company are governed by the law of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory rights under the law applying where you live.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions restricts any right you may have to bring proceedings in a court available to you under applicable consumer law.
